Iran’s Response to Rumors on Visa Cancellation for Kuwaiti Citizens
WANA (Mar 12) – The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kuwait has denied the circulating rumors about the cancellation of visa requirements for Kuwaiti citizens traveling to Iran.
In a statement, the Iranian Embassy in Kuwait addressed reports from certain social media platforms claiming that Kuwaiti citizens no longer need visas to visit Iranian cities.
The statement clarified: “The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kuwait refutes this claim and confirms that visa issuance continues uninterrupted every six months, provided that the duration of stay in Iran does not exceed 15 days.”
Additionally, the embassy emphasized that Kuwaiti citizens who frequently travel to Iranian cities are eligible for annual multiple-entry visas.
In 2023, Iran approved a policy allowing citizens of 28 countries to enter Iran without a visa using a valid passport. According to the Cabinet’s resolution, citizens of these countries can stay in Iran for up to 15 days every six months.
The list of eligible countries includes Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tunisia, Tanzania, Mauritania, Zimbabwe, Mauritius, Seychelles, Japan, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Brunei, Brazil, Mexico, Peru, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Belarus. Travelers from these countries only need a valid ticket to enter Iran.
Furthermore, Indian nationals can enter Iran without a visa if arriving by air but must obtain a visa for land border entry. Russian citizens are also eligible for visa-free entry when traveling in groups.
